Little Treasures from Blogland is a new themed post for Cultivating Time, which I hope to have on a monthly basis. This is where I will be sharing some of the great posts written by my fellow bloggers. I follow a lot of blogs and every month, I try hard to find the time to read other people’s posts. There are always some stand out posts that capture my attention. So here are my March Little Treasures from Blogland

My Sentiments From the Clouds by Justbluedutch – a brilliant post with some gorgeous cloud photos. This is such a useful way of looking at your worries and responding to worries.

Napoleon Xylophone by NapoleonSplit – it was really lovely to have a fellow blogger recommend a book to me in their post. The book Napoleon Xylophone sounds very intriguing. I love the book cover. I will definitely have to check this book out.

My Day at Hogawarts by Leaves et Livres – this is a place I really want to visit. It looks so much fun – full of magic and escapism.

6 Brunch Types We’ve All Met –  by Lineaurea – Lineaurea shares her definitions of the different brunch types. Which brunch type are you?

Paint Nite by An Historian About Town – I really wish there was a paint nite local to me. Here’s a great step by step to creating your own art piece.

Village in the Sky by Cobgoddess – this is a lovely post where Cobgoddess introduces the idea of the Village in the Sky. I am truly honored to be a member. I love this idea.

Draw Your Future by Life As A Potpourri – I hadn’t seen this Ted Talk – Draw Your Future. A really interesting idea and extension on the idea of vision boards.

Unplug Relax and Enjoy by Creating Branches –  a great post looking at taking time for self-care and letting joy and peace flow into your life. I really like the thought provoking questions raised in this post.

Misc Monday Science Museum Fun by Girlygeekgirl – this looks like a great idea. I really wish more museums did this sort of thing.

Most Beautiful Easter Tree by Surprisinglives – March is the month of Easter and this Easter Tree definitely has the wow factor. Amazing and beautiful.

Seeking New Year Inspiration While Surviving Acute Bronchitis

So far 2016 has really not gone to plan for me. The plan went array on Boxing Day (26th Jan) when I have was knocked of kilter by acute bronchitis. It has been particularly severe and my body is still struggling against it. Simply walking around the house is a challenge. On New Year’s I was in bed exhausted and things have yet to improve.

However, I am trying not to let it get me down. I am still planning to embrace the new year, once I am well enough to rejoin life to the full. Sometimes you have to just do nothing and wait for the worst to pass. I am enjoying reading again, cuddling my dog and feel very thankful for the prescribed medication that is keeping me going. I am staying focused on the notion of the new year. I am conserving my energy. I am just postponing things a bit.Read More »

Acknowledging the Winter Solstice

Here in the UK the 22nd December 2015 marks this years Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice, is an important turning point, as it marks the shortest day, when the hours of daylight are at their least. It also the start of the increase in the hours of daylight, until the Summer Solstice.

The Winter Solstice marks a central part of nature’s cycle. It is a time of new growth, rebirth and renewal. It is a reminder that in order to begin anew, the old must end.

The December solstice marks the ‘turning of the Sun’ as the days slowly get longer. Celebrations of the lighter days to come have been common throughout history with feasts and festivals, celebrated by cultures across the world.Read More »
