What’s the value in reading fiction?

One of my tasks/ goals for 2016 was to read more – I Spy Book Challenge 2016

I’m a fan of audio books. I regularly listen on my mp3 – walking the dog, doing housework, soaking in the bath and in bed before sleep. Listening to books is going great – it’s reading books that is not quite going to plan.

I have a small bookcase seriously over flowing with fiction books. There are some books I am looking forward to reading. But I just don’t seem to be making time in my life to read books. Let’s Read Heidi, Build a Sandcastle and Celebrate My New Job

What was your favorite book or movie as a child?

As a very small child I loved to read the story of Heidi. I still have this book today.

What is your favorite season and why?

I love spring. It’s a wonderful feeling after the long winter. I enjoy spring flowers, nature coming back to life and the warmer, brighter days.

Do you have a bucket list? What is number 1?

If I am lucky enough to holiday near the beach this year, I’m going to take some time out to build a wonderful sandcastle. Read More »

However, I am trying not to let it get me down. I am still planning to embrace the new year, once I am well enough to rejoin life to the full. Sometimes you have to just do nothing and wait for the worst to pass. I am enjoying reading again, cuddling my dog and feel very thankful for the prescribed medication that is keeping me going. I am staying focused on the notion of the new year. I am conserving my energy. I am just postponing things a bit.Read More »
